Dwayne Whitten

I was born on January 28, 1972 in Gravette, Arkansas. In 1982, my family moved to Palestine, Texas. I graduated from Westwood High School in Palestine in 1990. After high school, I attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. While at Ouachita, I was involved with the Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, the Accounting Club and most importantly, the Track & Field Team.

In 1994, I graduated with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration, with a minor in Computer Science. I then started working as a programmer/analyst for Arkansas Systems, Inc. in Little Rock. Later that year, I went back to Ouachita working in the Computer Services Department. My job title at Ouachita was Microcomputer Coordinator, which included the installation, management, and support of new computer equipment and maintenance of over 400 computers and 150 printers. I also provided training for the faculty and staff on Microsoft Office, web page design, networking, etc.

In the Spring of 1995, I entered the MBA program at Henderson State University, also in Arkadelphia. Five semesters later, I graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.

I taught in the School of Business at the University of Arkansas at Monticello during the 1998-99 school year and the School of Business at Henderson State University during the 1999-2000 school year. I was an Assistant Professor of Information Systems in the School of Business at Ouachita Baptist University from 2000-2002 and taught in the Information Systems Department at Baylor University in Waco, Texas from 2002-2005 while also pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration (major = Computer Information Systems) at Louisiana Tech University. I have since completed my degree and am currently teaching in the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University.

I am a life-long believer in Jesus Christ and know that He is my Savior. My faith in Him has gotten me through the worst of times and will continue to provide support for me for the remaining time I have left on this earth. “In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths” Proverbs 3:6.

Leslie and I were married on January 1st, 1995 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Dacey Elizabeth was born January 19, 1999, in Benton, Arkansas.
Braeden Matthew was born on June 19, 2000, in Benton, Arkansas.
Addison Grace was born on August 30, 2001, in Benton, Arkansas.

Coby Lynn was born on February, 15, 2007, in College Station, Texas.
